Help Us Please You

Look on us and hear us,
O Lord our God;
and help us in our endeavors to please you
which you yourself have given us;
as you have given the first act of will,
so lead us to the completion of our work;
grant that we may be able to finish
what you have given us the desire to begin;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord Almighty, only Son of the Father,
free us from the bonds of our sins
and fill us with all spiritual gifts.
Let your grace go before us and follow us,
that we may faithfully serve you here,
and be numbered with your saints in glory everlasting;
through your mercy, O our God,
you are blessed,
and live and govern all things,
now and forever.
Amen.

Spread abroad your peace in our hearts and minds,
guard and protect us in all danger,
and lead us to always trust in your defense,
that we may serve you without fear

O Lord Jesus Christ,
you took on yourself the weakness of our mortal nature.
Grant that we may pass this day in safety without sin,
resisting all the temptations of the enemy,
that in the evening, we may joyfully praise you,
O King eternal, through your mercy.

forever and ever.

Forgive Us Our Sins

O merciful God,
you justified the tax collector
who stood at a distance
and beating his breast,
confessed his sins to you.
As we acknowledge our unworthiness,
and ask for your mercy,
forgive all our sins;
through your mercy,
and for the sake of Jesus Christ,
your Son, our Savior.
Amen.
