October 7

My God, I thank you for making me, redeeming me, and keeping me in your grace. It is the gift of your mercy that I have done any good, and it is the gift of your mercy that I have been kept from any evil. I praise you for every good thought you have implanted in my heart, and I praise you for the grace and wisdom to obey it. With all that I am and with all I can do, I praise you. Amen.

Edward Bouverie Pusey (1800-1882), revised from Prayers Ancient and Modern.

Open wide the windows of our spirits and fill us full of light. Open wide the doors of our hearts, that we may receive and entertain you with all our powers of adoration and love. Amen.

Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830-1894), revised from Prayers Ancient and Modern.
